The Wall
Accounts, licences and subscriptions for your browser extension, on your own Stripe account. What it is, and what it is not.
The Wall runs the part of selling a Chrome extension that is not the extension: who bought it, on which devices, whether the subscription still pays, what happens when it does not. You register a tool, set a price, and ship an extension with a small client in it. The client asks the Wall two questions — may this device use the free tier? and is this person entitled? — and the Wall answers with signed tokens your extension verifies on its own.
Money is yours. Checkout runs on your Stripe account; the buyer sees your name; refunds, disputes and tax are yours, in your Stripe dashboard. The Wall takes a fee per sale as a Stripe application fee. Nothing monthly.
Buyers are yours. Each workspace has its own pool of buyers, its own sign-in, its own pages in your brand — on our address or on your own domain. You can export all of it at any time (Export and exit).
What the Wall is not. It is not a store: buyers find your extension where they always did. It is not a payment processor: Stripe is. It does not run inside your extension: the client is a few hundred lines you can read.
Where to go
- Quickstart — a tool, a price, an extension, a purchase, in about ten minutes.
- How it works — every request the extension makes and what it means.
- API and Webhooks — your server and the Wall, both ways.
- Export and exit — what you can take with you, and what happens if the Wall stops.
